The fifth largest city in France, Bordeaux has a population of 650,000. The Bordeaux Urban Community embraces 27 communes in an area of 55,000 hectares. The Bordeaux municipal budget exceeds Euros 600 millions, with the city providing an essential prime mover function for local development.
Bordeaux boasts a comprehensive, diversified range of expertise and know-how, in the aviation, civil and military space , leading-edge materials and radar domains among others. With over 20,000 jobs, the Bordeaux region holds an unchallenged position as leading European centre for high-performance composite materials, also enjoying a unique position in Europe in the area of heavy solid fuel propulsion systems know-how.
